Avaz — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 17 August 2026

Avaz is a karaoke voice-effects app for iPhone and iPad, provided by AYDA Digital (United Kingdom). It applies live effects (reverb, echo, pitch and similar) to your voice through the microphone while you sing along to music playing in another app. By using Avaz you agree to this policy and to our Terms of Use.

What we collect: nothing

Avaz does not collect, store or transmit any personal data. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no third-party services inside the app. The app makes no network connections of its own.

Microphone

Avaz asks for microphone access only to apply live voice effects while you sing. Your voice is processed in real time, on your device, and played straight out to the speaker or headphones. We have checked the code: nothing is recorded, saved to a file or uploaded anywhere. Nothing remains once you stop the mic or close the app.

If you record yourself using another app (for example the iPhone screen recorder or a voice-memo app), that recording belongs to that app and is governed by its own privacy policy, not ours. Keep your own copies of anything you record.

Settings stored on your device

Your chosen effect and mic level live only in the app's memory while it is open. The one thing Avaz remembers between launches is that you have read the "Before you start" notice. That flag is stored on your device only and is removed when you delete the app.

Music and video from other apps

Avaz does not host, embed or stream any songs or videos. Backing tracks come from whatever other app you choose to play (YouTube, Apple Music, Spotify and so on). Those services have their own privacy policies and terms; we do not see or receive anything about what you play.

Where data is stored and for how long

Because nothing is collected, nothing is stored on our servers and there is nothing to retain or delete. If you email us for support, we keep that email conversation only as long as needed to help you, and then delete it on request.

Your rights (UK GDPR)

You have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). In practice, because Avaz collects no data, there is nothing for us to hold — but you are always welcome to ask.

Children

Avaz is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children. Please supervise children's listening volume (see the hearing-safety note in the Terms of Use).

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new "Last updated" date.
